It is perfect for students aged 14 or over (school or college), career changers, or anyone interested in exploring careers in health and social care.
Through this programme, you will complete structured activities, explore real roles across the health and care system, and hear directly from professionals working in the sector.

Explore health and social care
Health and social care is made up of a wide range of services that work together to support people’s health and wellbeing:
Primary Care – General Practitioner (GP) practices, pharmacies, dentists, optometry
Community Care – district nursing, therapy services, care at home
Social Care – care homes, domiciliary care, support workers
These services work in partnership to support people at every stage of life, from prevention and early support through to ongoing care.
Earn a certificate of completion
Receive a certificate after submitting your Activity Pack and recognise your learning. This is a great way to:
Add experience to your Curriculum Vitae (CV) or personal statement
Show your interest in health and social care careers
Demonstrate commitment, motivation and initiative
Prepare for applications, interviews, and future opportunities
What is in the Activity Pack?
We offer a range of flexible, self-guided activities designed to help you explore careers in health and social care. You will build your understanding of the sector and reflect on your own skills and interests. Our downloadable Activity Pack includes:
Career research tasks
“Day in the life” activities
Skills reflection exercises
Real-world scenarios to explore
Career pathway planning
These activities can be completed independently at your own pace, making them ideal for those who are unable to access traditional in-person work experience.
How do I meet the team in a live session?
Enhance your experience by booking in a virtual session via Microsoft Teams. During these sessions, you can:
Speak directly to clinical and non-clinical professionals
Ask questions about different roles
Get advice on career pathways and applications
Hear real experiences from people working in health and care

Submit your Activity Pack for certification
To achieve a certificate, you will need to complete a number of activities from the Activity Pack alongside writing some short reflections. The submission form will prompt you to reflect on:
What you learned about health and social care
Which role interested you most and why
What skills you already have and want to develop
Choose your level and decide how much you want to complete
🥉 Bronze Certificate
Complete at least 3 activities
Submit short reflections
🥈 Silver Certificate
Complete at least 4 activities
Submit detailed reflections
🥇 Gold Certificate
Complete all 5 activities
Submit detailed reflections
Attend a live Teams session or engage with staff
This is the strongest level and is ideal for CVs and personal statements.
If you meet the above criteria, then you will receive a digital certificate. Our team normally reviews them within 5 working days. If you don't hear back by then, please email us at alliance.hub1@nhs.net and we will investigate the hold up.

We’re keen to work with schools, colleges and careers advisers to inspire the next generation of the health and social care workforce. Our team can provide engaging careers talks, workshops, and virtual sessions to help students understand the wide range of opportunities available. Our sessions are perfect for Key Stage 3 (KS3) / Key Stage 4 (KS4) students, sixth form and college students, careers events and enrichment days.
