We are a reliable and reputational training provider with delegates spanning local, regional, national and international boundaries. Paediactric Asthma Training
Saluting our Sisters
Perinatal Mental Health Awareness
We deliver training to over 1,200 health care professionals each year

The presenters were well informed and able to adapt the presentation and terminology for those working in different heath care settings. Useful current references and resources. Good amount of breaks and well-paced.

What worked well was the openness and desire to share knowledge. I left with a positive feeling.

Your courses are unique and very helpful.

I enjoyed everything. I found it so useful to be able to see Secondary Care’s point of view and what happens after a referral is sent. It’s certainly given me a better understanding.
We are a trusted training and funding provider by Primary Care organisations across Nottinghamshire and England

Places are limited and we will allocate tickets across a spread of different roles and localities. If an event says it is fully booked, please register for the waiting list as we will release additional tickets as they become available.
Additional courses we have designed and deliver are:

For anyone wishing to develop professional management and leadership practice to drive business activities.

For Nursing team to gain confidence and knowledge so students receive high-quality learning, support and supervision during their practice placements.

For Advanced Practitioners requiring access to request radiology imaging (chest, upper and lower limb x-rays) at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Recurring CPD training
We run several regular CPD courses throughout the year, ready to book onto by those new to their role or who have progressed into new responsibilities. These are repeat events so you only need to book onto one (unless you would like a refresher). You can access or download our resources supporting your development in these topics.
Clinical Supervision training
Covers the foundations required to become a competent Clinical Supervisor.

I learnt that supervision needs to be individualised in terms of learning needs, and methods of giving teaching and feedback.
This is an accredited course which was developed in collaboration with NHS England. It allows exemption from the first day of the 1 ½ day Clinical Supervision training course which is required to become an Associate Training Practice Clinical Supervisor.
New to Practice training
Provides an overview of Primary Care topics relevant to new staff joining Primary Care.

The most important thing I learnt was the structure of the NHS, including ICB, ICS and PCN levels and the roles they play in healthcare.
New Appraiser / Annual Review training
Covers the foundations behind the annual review / appraisal support meeting of colleagues.

It is very important to plan Professional Development Plans (PDPs) according to the job role, and most important is the quality not quantity. It is important to make sure every PDP is measurable.
Need more information?
How much do your CPD courses cost?
The majority of our events are fully funded (free) to attend. Where costs apply, these have been subsidised and you could apply for funding to cover the ticket price.
Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
Certificates of attendance will be issued within 2 weeks of the event date. These will be electronic and circulated by email. It is therefore important that you sign-in via the register to evidence that you attended the session. Contact us if you have not received your certificate by this date.
How do you decide what CPD topics to cover?
All our events are designed based on the feedback we receive via our annual Notts Primary Care Training Needs Analysis, and via individual event feedback forms asking for topic suggestions. Our local clinicians and experts design bespoke courses to directly meet your development needs.
How do your events differ from Phoenix Programme events?
The Phoenix Programme provides workforce support and career development for GPs and non-clinical colleagues working in primary care including:
Support for GPs at all stages of career from those in training through to those approaching retirement with a range of educational events, mentoring, career signposting and fellowships.
Bespoke support to help guide GPs returning to work, international medical graduates and GP locums.
Non-clinical workforce support including managerial fellowships, foundation programme for practice managers, local practice manager toolkit, peer support and educational events.
Will I be charged for non-attendance?
There is a 48 hours’ cancellation policy notice for some events which will be clarified on the Eventbrite page and booking email confirmation. Should you fail to cancel your place and not attend, your employer may be liable to pay us towards the cost of the training event.
Who designs and delivers Notts Primary Care Training events?
Our friendly and approachable multi-professional events team live and breathe Notts Primary Care. As local members of the workforce themselves, they face the same challenges and health inequalities as you. They’re passionate about providing the best patient care, and supporting others to do the same. This drives their enthusiasm to design and write bespoke training to meet your CPD needs and the needs of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire population.
