This free course is for Nurses, Midwives and Associate Nurses working within primary care in Nottingham City and the South of the County. 
Continuation of 1 hour sessions of Top Tips on managing Contraception and Sexual Health in primary care settings during remote and face-to-face consultations. Training delivered by sexual health specialists from the Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) Integrated Sexual Health Team. These are insight sessions and will all be based on national and local guidelines. Links to the guidelines and e learning resources will all be provided at the individual sessions 
 
Session 5: 20th May 2021 2-3pm Top tips for managing vaginal discharge 
 
Course Objectives 
 
You will have an understanding of 
 
• Describe the common and/or important causes of vaginal discharge in adults 
• Appropriate tests and examinations 
• Appropriate treatment 
• Management or Referral 
 
Session 6: 3rd June 2021 2-3pm Top tips for managing genital ulceration 
 
Course Objectives 
 
You will have an understanding of 
 
• The differential diagnosis of genital ulceration when presenting in a sexually active adult in the UK 
• Appropriate tests and examinations 
• Appropriate treatment 
• Management or Referral 
 
Session 7: 17th June 2021 2-3pm Top tips for managing a consultation for Progestogen only pill (POP) and Progestogen-only Injectables 
 
Course Objectives 
 
You will have an understanding of 
 
• The information that you need in order to make a safe assessment for the use of POP or Progestogen-only Injectables 
• The information that your patient needs in order for her to make a decision whether to use the POP or Progestogen-only Injectables 
• What your patient needs to know to enable her to use these methods 
 
Session 8: 1st July 2021 2-3pm Top tips for managing lumps and bumps of the genitals 
 
Course Objectives 
 
You will have an understanding of 
 
• The differential diagnosis of genital lumps 
• Appropriate tests and examinations 
• Appropriate treatment 
• Management or Referral 
 
Session 9: 15th July 2021 2-3pm An insight into the management of HIV in your patients 
 
Course Objectives 
 
You will have an understanding of 
 
• The indications for HIV testing, promoting awareness and reducing the barriers 
• How your patients’ that are HIV positive are managed by their specialist team 
• How you can support your patients 
• Support for you and your patient
