This course provides an introduction to the principles of promoting health and wellbeing. It explores examples of inequalities in health within the UK, their possible causes and current approaches to tackling these inequalities. Participants will learn how effective communication can support health messages, how to promote improvements in the health and wellbeing of others and understand the impact of change on improving an individual’s health and wellbeing. 
 
This course incorporates the learning outcomes of the accredited Level 2 Award Understanding Health Improvement from the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and participants can choose to complete the RSPH assessment to receive the nationally recognised award. 
 
The course will enable participants to: 
know how inequalities in health develop and what the current policies are for addressing these 
understand how effective communication can support health messages 
know how to promote improvements in health and wellbeing to individuals 
understand the impact of change on improving an individual’s health and wellbeing 
 
The assessment is a 30 question MCQ paper which will be undertaken online. To be successful candidates must achieve a minimum of 20 correct answers. The workshop will be delivered online by webinar and will be highly interactive. The assessment will be undertaken shortly after the workshop. 
 
The date of the workshop will be 15th March - 9.30 am to 16.30 pm
