New to Practice Nurses
Resources and opportunities to support nurses
Nurses who are new to working in primary care/general practice often require support with the development of knowledge and skills. There are a number of resources and opportunities available to support nurses, the information below details this support.
NHS England Improvement provided support to those nurses who are new to working in primary care and qualified in the last 12 months. Full information of the general practice fellowship for GPs and nurses can be found here.
NATH are supporting the scheme by co-ordinating places on the De Montfort University GPN fundamentals programme. You can also access support if you are a nurse new to working in primary care regardless of your time qualified. We often collaborate with other training hubs when delivering programmes of work. Lincolnshire Training Hub have opened up their sessions for nurses who are new to practice.
We have compiled some resources for you (in the table below) based on the two year programme, many of these opportunities are available to all nurse regardless the stage of their career. For more information please contact us: alliance.hub1@nhs.net
