Accessing training for coil and implant procedures and completing the Diploma of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DCSRH) has now become easier for healthcare professionals across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

If you are looking to develop new skills, increase variety in your role, and improve job satisfaction, contraception training could be the perfect next step in your professional development.

Why Consider Contraception Training?

Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) training provides clinicians with the skills and confidence to deliver essential contraceptive services within primary care.

Through this training, you will gain practical experience in:

Contraceptive implants

Intrauterine contraception (coils)

Sexual and reproductive healthcare consultations

This training supports the development of a skilled workforce that can improve access to contraception services across the region.

Flexible Training Clinics

Participants can book a weekly dedicated training clinic, designed to provide structured and hands-on learning.

Training clinics are available across:

Bassetlaw
Sherwood Forest Hospitals
Nottingham

Sessions run Monday to Friday (morning and afternoon) and can be booked throughout the year, allowing you to plan your training around your existing clinical commitments.

Training blocks include:

Implants and DCSRH: up to 5 sessions
Coils (IUT): up to 10 sessions

Qualifications You Can Work Towards

This training pathway supports clinicians who wish to work towards recognised qualifications from the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH).

These include:
