Three Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Nurses Awarded the Queen’s Nurse Title for 2025
We are delighted to share that three exceptional members of our Nottinghamshire primary care community have been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse (QN) title by The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) for 2025.
Please join us in congratulating:
Shelley Herbert, Practice Nurse Lead, Musters Medical Practice
Kirsten Taylor, Practice Nurse at Derby Road Health Centre & PCN Nurse Lead for South Nottinghamshire
Hollie Bloom, Clinical Care Co-ordinator for Housebound Patients, Ashfield South PCN
This national title reflects their ongoing commitment to delivering high standards of practice, leadership, innovation, and compassionate care within their communities.
What the Queen’s Nurse Title Represents
The Queen’s Nurse (QN) title is awarded by The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) to nurses who demonstrate:
A strong commitment to professional values
Consistently high standards of patient care
Dedication to ongoing learning and development
Leadership within their teams and communities
It is important to note that the Queen’s Nurse title is not a reward for past service, but a recognition of a nurse’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening their professional practice into the future. The honour reflects who these nurses are today and the impact they continue to make.
Why This Matters for Our Communities
Community and primary care nurses play a vital role in supporting patients where they feel most comfortable and empowered, at home and within their neighbourhoods.
Our three newly awarded Queen’s Nurses demonstrate:
A deep understanding of the needs of local communities
A passion for improving patient experiences
A drive to influence best practice across multidisciplinary teams
A commitment to equity, safety, and personalised care
Their leadership will continue to benefit patients, practices, PCNs, and wider system partners across Nottinghamshire.
What Becoming a Queen’s Nurse Offers
As Queen’s Nurses, Shelley, Kirsten, and Hollie will now be part of a national network offering:
Workshops and professional development opportunities
Access to learning resources and QICN programmes
Peer support and sharing of best practice
Opportunities to influence future models of community nursing
This supportive community allows Queen’s Nurses to continue shaping the profession with confidence and inspiration.
A Message of Congratulations
We are incredibly proud of Shelley, Kirsten, and Hollie for achieving this recognition.
Their dedication, compassion, and leadership represent the very best of community and primary care nursing in Nottinghamshire.
Thank you for everything you do to support patients, families, and colleagues every single day.
