Meet the Team: Callum Hunting-Young
We interviewed Callum Hunting-Young, our Physician Associate Ambassador for Nottinghamshire about his new role, past experiences and what he gets up to in his spare time.
What are your responsibilities?
To act as an ambassador for the new healthcare profession, Physician Associate (PA). My job is to raise awareness of the potential and scope of PAs, to help increase the appetite for the role, and help support the expansion and integration of PAs in the multi-professional workforce.
Why did you want to take on this role?
I see the value that we as PAs can add to the workforce, and wanted to help push our profession in the right direction. I wanted to open up the opportunities for those PAs already working and those still to come.
What did you do prior to this role?
Worked as a Health Care Assistant, Discharge Coordinator, and Divemaster. Qualifications that helped me progress into this role are BSc Biochemistry, PGDiP Physician Associate Studies.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m an avid rock climber, mountain biker and scuba diver.
How have you found working with the Nottinghamshire Alliance Training Hub (NATH) Team?
Warm, welcoming and supportive team!
