James Waldron - GP Associate
Hi, I’m James Waldron, a portfolio GP in Nottingham and an associate with NATH. I’m also the Vale of Trent First 5 Lead and a Phoenix Programme GP Tutor.

I have worked on a variety of projects from school engagement with the “I’m a Medic” project to creating a Mobile App for primary care. Most of my time however is spent on finding, creating and supporting educational and CPD events. I love the interaction that I get to have with lots of colleagues from Secondary Care and from the myriad of different roles in Primary Care too!

In addition to my medical qualifications I have PostGrad Certificate in Medical education and I’m a certified MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) builder.

Before this role I was a locum GP which enabled me to travel and see lots of different parts of the world. I love exploring different cultures, background and points of view so this experience has always helped me find creative ways of approaching problems.

In my free time I try and keep busy (almost never a moment standing still)! I love music and I’m an avid (slightly obsessive) guitarist and bassist and have been part of jazz, rock, metal and salsa bands in the past and am looking for another now! I also play the violin with the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra and act with various theatre companies. I love martial arts and do Muay Thai kick boxing and BJJ(Brazilian jiu-jitsu) in the past. I also have a real passion for travel.

Working with NATH is great! I’m really grateful to work here as I feel my skills, energy and contributions are always appreciated and encouraged. Not only that, the environment has afforded many opportunities for personal growth, skill development and fun whilst all the time allowing me to contribute to Primary Care. My colleagues are great, friendly and happy people and I look forward to each day working with them!
