Meet The Team: Sarah Thomas

Hi, I’m Sarah Thomas, I’m responsible for training in literature searching, and finding the evidence using medical databases and other electronic resources. I also carry out evidence searches to support evidence-based practice. This role is part of a new initiative from HEE, and there will be a network of us covering different regions across the country.

I wanted to take on this role so that I could embrace the opportunity to be a part of developing a new role, taking the evidence support services we offer to staff in hospital Trusts out to Primary Care. I have an MSc Econ in Library and Information Studies, and a Diploma in Nursing (Project 2000 Adult Branch).

Prior to this role, I have worked for an Acute Trust, a Mental Health Trust and a University Library, so have a broad range of experience. Before working in Librarianship, I was a Nurse and worked clinically for thirteen years in a variety of specialities. This has given me a good understanding of the information needs of clinical, and other healthcare staff.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and hill walking, and over the last couple of years I have taken up board gaming. I also enjoy crafts, and sewing, and have a passion for travelling.

I am really happy to have joined the NATH Team and have received a very friendly welcome. I am very much looking forward to working in such a supportive environment.
