Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub are rolling out a free programme of events and training for all professionals working within Primary Care in the Midlands, designed to upskill all healthcare workers on the detection, assessment, management and impact of Perinatal Mental Illness.
Perinatal mental illness affects up to 27% of new and expectant mums and covers a wide range of conditions.

Advise practices how to provide a welcoming environment with opportunities for women to seek help.
Enable all staff to recognise the early signs of perinatal mental illness and signpost accordingly.
Help clinicians to feel more confident in diagnosing perinatal mental illness and develop a shared management plan with the patient.
Ensure that referrals to Perinatal Mental Health Services are made in a timely and appropriate manner.
Improve communication between Primary and Secondary Care to enable excellence in the patient journey.
