Practice Nurse Newsletter - May 2021
BRIEF UPDATE FROM ME
This year Nottinghamshire Primary Care are focusing on Diabetes/ Mental Health/ Frailty and Health Promotion. So all things GPN team focussed. Each surgery will have chosen 2 of these topics to concentrate on – to perhaps look at doing things differently. Lots of opportunities to get involved and give real life suggestions – leading on to shared learning over the year.
More areas are looking to how GPNs can be involved in their local primary care network and the role of the nursing associate is being welcomed.
NOTTINGHAM & NOTTINGHAMSHIRE GENERAL PRACTICE NURSE STRATEGY 2020/21
Nottingham & Nottinghamshire General Practice Nurse Strategy 2021/21 can be downloaded here. So many opportunities for the GPN Team in Notts - please e-mail NATH at allince.hub1@nhs.net if you would like further details about anything mentioned, more information to follow.
HOW ARE YOU?
This last year has seen the practice nurse team step up, adapt to new ways of working and help not only with flu vaccinations as extra hours but now the covid vaccinations also. Whilst some thrive on this; others will feel exhausted and overwhelmed. There’s lots of support available locally to help with your wellbeing – I love the Shinymind App. Particularly for those times you have a situation ruminating around your head – it helps you put everything in perspective and gives you a boast.
The app is available free to those working in Primary and Community care in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire ICS. Sign up here.
