Training Needs Analysis 2024 Action Plan (9 Month Update)
Firstly, we want to say thank you!
Thank you to everyone who shared their training needs and feedback in our Primary Care Training Needs Analysis (TNA) 2024. Since April, we have been working hard to deliver or signpost you to relevant training that meets your priorities, as well as addressing other topics that may not have featured in the top 5.
Below is a summary of what we have delivered so far in response to your training needs for 2024, and what we have in development for the last 3 months of 2024-25 financial year (before end March 2025). This is broken down in the seven different topic sections:

We have also hosted, or have upcoming, 21 events relating to other clinical topics from the TNA. We have recorded the talks and put them on our YouTube to make it accessible to all clinicians to refer back to.
Approved several CPD Funding requests for clinical training:
Diabetes and endocrine system – 6x requests received and approved for Diabetes update / Foundation courses, totalling £1,500
Respiratory – 10x CPD requests approved for 'Asthma and COPD' courses, totalling £1,800
Bloods – 3x CPD requests approved from physiotherapists for 'Demystifying blood tests in MSK Health'
Cardiology – CPD requests approved for 'Managing cardiovascular disease in primary care' (1), and 'Performing an ECG' (1)
Common medications in primary care – 14x requests approved for 'non-medical prescribing' courses, totalling over £4,000 (from paramedics, physios and nurses).

TOP 5 Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Topics
We specifically asked questions on EDI to identify key areas for growth and support needs among our teams. We delivered presentations and events on the top 5 topics, fostering important discussions around creating more inclusive and equitable practices within the healthcare sector. These sessions highlighted the importance of tailoring training and development to meet diverse needs while promoting a supportive, inclusive environment for all.

We have completed multiple evidenced based MSK pathlogy management, to aid the patient experience, discuss SDM tools and how to best optimise referrals including OA knee pathway and podiatry service

We are now seeking your training needs priorities for 2025-26 via the same method as previous years - an online survey that is open to everyone (clinical and non-clinical) working in Notts Primary Care.
It is open from Monday 6 January, closing on Sunday 2 February 2025 (open for four weeks).
