"
Clinical supervisors find it motivating. It confirms to them the wealth of knowledge they have and can share with the next generation of nurses. It encourages them to appraise their own practice, brush up on any knowledge gaps and be proud of the amazing job they do every day.
Lead Nurse Primary Care
"
Hosting a student was a good experience and she engaged well with the team. She benefited our practice by creating an enthusiastic and enjoyable learning environment, asking questions, challenging current practice vs.
guidance, and creating reflective learning for the entire team.
Practice Supervisor
"
It not only consolidated my desire to work in primary care but prepared me in the best way possible in how the job works on a day-to-day basis. I formed instant bonds with the team and saw how supportive they were with each other.

What is a SSSA Practice Supervisor?

Practice Supervisors support and supervise Nursing students learning in the practice learning environment as students cannot be on placement without supervision.

What is a SSSA Practice Assessor?

Practice Assessors assess and confirm the student’s achievement of practice learning objectives within practice learning experiences. They do not need to be physically based or employed in the setting where the student is placed. They work with the nominated Academic Assessor to make a recommendation for student progression.
Visit the NMC SSSA Supporting Information Hub for further guidance.
