NATH works in partnership with Higher Education Insitutions across the region to support student placements across a range of courses. This is central to our work and forms one of the six core functions each training hub is commissioned to deliver against.
NATH is asked to find suitable placement opportunities for students wanting to gain experience or seeking a career in primary and community care. Placements form a valuable part of the learning, enabling students to gain real life skills and knowledge that will support their course objectives and career development. Placements vary in length depending on individual course requirments.
NATH would like to encourage all GP practices in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire to consider offering a student placement, since
we feel the local area offers excellent examples of primary and community care provision
it helps with workforce planning
it encourages students to remain in the area after graduation.
By offering a successful local placement, NATH believes, students will consider the city and county as a base for future employment.
Details of placement requests are found below. If you are a GP Practice, primary / community care provider please consider the options and get in touch with us for more information about hosting a student.
If you are a student looking for a placement please make contact to discuss how we might work with your university to develop a local placement offer.
