OUR STRATEGY

WELCOME

It gives me great pleasure to present our first-year strategy for the Nottinghamshire Alliance Training Hub (NATH). Building on the success of our four original training hubs in Nottingham City, Rushcliffe, CityCare Urgent Care Centre and NEMS Health Partners, NATH brings together five years of working together to grow practice-based education and workforce development for primary and community care in Nottinghamshire. We are launching NATH in unprecedented times, set against the challenges of COVID-19, moving to a single strategic commissioner for Nottinghamshire and establishing new roles and relationships in primary and community care.

NATH and its legacy organisations have been leaders in innovative, multi-professional approaches to education, training and development. Supporting the introduction of new roles such as social prescribing link workers, GP assistants, physician associates, and urgent care practitioners, and delivering placements for a range of health care students. Throughout our history we have embraced technology and developed flexible opportunities for participation such as online training and webinars, remote working which has
enabled us to extend our reach across the East Midlands and beyond.

On 1 April 2020, we established a NATH Board with representation from Nottingham City, Mid-Nottinghamshire and South Nottinghamshire localities. The Board is developing a strategic approach to supporting the Integrated Care System to grow and develop its primary and community care workforce. We look forward to working with you (our partners) to understand your workforce educational needs, continue to create opportunities for learning, and be accountable for the investment of funding to support primary and community care
workforce education and development.

We look forward to engaging with you over the coming weeks and months as we work together to make sense of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
