New to Practice Nurses
Funding available to support New to Practice Nurses
If your surgery are considering to hire, or have recently hired a nurse new to general practice, we may be able to support with a NHS England funded place on the GPN Fundamentals programme via De Montfort University. You can also access support if you are a nurse new to working in primary care regardless of your time qualified. University of Nottingham have completed an evaluation of the GPN Fundamentals Programme. Download the summary report or full report to read.
Pro-rata reimbursement
We can also potentially offer pro-rata reimbursement to the employer for up to one session per week so the individual can be released from the practice to participate in fellowship activities.
This is calculated at the individual’s actual salary cost
It is further supported by an additional 30% toward on-costs of tax, NI and pension
Calculations are based on:
FTE is 37.5 hours
A nine-session week
Reimbursement for up to one session per week (4hr 10 mins / 52 weeks)
