Before we reflect on last year, we are very excited to host our General Practice Nurse (GPN) Conference tomorrow at the Indian Community Centre Association and look forward to seeing everyone there!

We also have an upcoming First Contact Practitioner (FCP) in Primary Care Conference on Wednesday 5 June 2024, which will be hosted online. Free tickets are still available and it is aimed at Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics, Dietitians, Podiatrists as well as GPs and Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs). This includes Trainees.

A day to celebrate Notts Primary Care

"
Dr Helen Garr's first session really set the tone for the rest of the day. It was a perfect start and helped focus my mind, which helped keep me interested and inspired for the entire day.
Last September 2023 we hosted our first Notts Primary Care Conference to bring together colleagues across the county and celebrate all the fantastic work going on. Sessions from the day included:

How to keep yourself energised at work
How to ensure patient safety
How to manage feeling overwhelmed and burnt out (see Wellbeing resources)
How technology innovations can enhance Primary Care
How to take the next step in your career development
Notts Primary Care Workforce Development Initiative of the Year (photos below)
What innovations are needed for the sustainability of Primary Care
How to get the most out of staff through supervision (see GPN resources)
How to say goodbye to the imposter

How you described the day...

Uplifted, enthusiastic, organised, excellent, happy, informative, inspired, motivated, exciting, good, party-atmosphere, happy, interesting, connected

One of the best conferences I’ve been to; really great chairing keeping it lively and moving, great sessions, I’m an experienced Practice Manager, quite outward looking, but felt I learnt a lot from today.
"
I enjoyed everything! I liked that there was a balance between information about the work going on in primary care as well as information and talks about the well-being of the workforce in primary care.

Primary Care initiatives that have supported staff retention

We held a poster competition to showcase and recognise staff retention initiatives happening across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Primary Care. We were so pleased to receive nine submissions. Congratulations to Jessica, our winner, Kai, Cassie, Clare, Gemma, and Lauren, our highly commended posters and to all our runners up.
